Since covid it is harder to get appearance attorneys to travel, incur high gas costs, and pay expensive parking to make IN PERSON depositions.
Of the many depositions we do, in MOST cases the deposing attorney is appearing remotely, the reporter is also remote, and if an interpreter is used it is also via remote. We can handle both in person and remote depositions, just know that it is mcuch quicker to place an appearance lawyer when it is by remote.
We are able to prep the clients by remote as well if you should choose to have us do it.
Our deposition fees are $250 for the first two hour and $99/hr thereafter for actual time used. We require an advance payment as condition for appearing which is YOUR estimate of the reasonable amount of attorney time the deposition will require. EXAMPLE: A 4 hour estimate is calculated as $250+99+99=$448. That amount is what is required as advance minimum payment. The minimum fee is $250 for the minimum 2.0 hours
PLEASE CONSIDER: When we assign an attorney to attend the deposition, you are paying for the attorney time and expertise. The attorney is agreeing to commit to your minimum estimate of time required and to be blocked from accepting any other assignment whether or not the deposition lasts that long.
If the deposition takes longer than your estimate we will immediately calculate the extra time required and bill you for it. If there is a parking fee you agree to reimburse it with a receipt as proof. You agree to pay that balance on receipt of the bill.
The plus for you is that we do not charge you for TRAVEL TIME which can be significant.

Once an attorney has committed to covering your appearance, enough time has been blocked out and dedicated to your matter to the exclusion of any other offered work and the cancellation fee is used to cover that commitment.
